What can I do for you?

So many people are in life just to see how much they can get out of it. But how does that help society? It does not except to drive the greed already rampant. So many people attend churches or take part in other religious activities trying to satisfy their need for a higher cause or social betterment, taking the values that are taught but often refusing to implement them, instead being satisfied merely with the dream of a better world. But the real answer to the question is another question: what can I do for you?

If everyone, including me, could only grasp the real meaning of all that could be accomplished with this attitude, the world could be a better place. But pictures of utopia are easier pained than lived, to coordinate this would be impossible, to be this selfless is difficult. Still, the fact remains that so much could be accomplished if everyone could just do a little. For many, however, this is just too much and they continue on through life as social parasites, sucking their existence from those who sacrifice for the good of all. Being a parasite leaves one bloated with the pleasures of this world but void of meaning. Everyone has the social responsibility to give back to society. Embrace this and ask the question, "What can I do for you?"

Does it take a victory to unite the Filipino Nation?

SOON AFTER scoring an electrifying victory in Las Vegas, ring sensation Manny Pacquiao expressed one wish for his country: "Sana magkaintindihan na po tayong lahat (I hope we'll all finally end our differences)."

And for three or four hours that day, Filipinos looked like they did.

In Metro Manila and elsewhere in the country, families stayed glued in front of their television sets, many motorists and jeepney drivers stayed off the streets, traders closed their shops and others set up TV monitors in markets to watch their idol hammer Erik Morales to submission.

In one hospital in Quezon City, doctors and nurses burst into cheers, although a patient was undergoing surgery in a nearby operating room.

Communist guerrillas and Moro separatist insurgents also listened to or watched the fight.

Even if only fleetingly, a people deeply divided over their President had united behind a former bakery worker.

Only light traffic flowed along stretches of EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue).

In Pampanga province, many jeepney and tricycle drivers in San Fernando City stopped plying their routes and watched the fight on television at their terminals.

Every Pacquiao punch that found Morales' chin or stomach set up roars of cheering.

"The victory of Manny is a moral booster to all of us Filipinos, especially during these times," said one friend of mine.

In Baguio City, traffic was at its lightest in years because most residents stayed home to watch the fight, according to the police.

Every thing that I have said was just a recount on what happened that faithful day of Jan 23,2006. Everything stopped because of one fight of a great man. Everyone was sticked like glue to the televisions and cinemas wishing that he would win. There are some that doubted him but since he is a Filipino no matter what happens he would support his fellow men. Does it take a victory to unite the Filipino Nation?

But, let us not forget that we do not need an everyday match or

victory of Manny Pacquiao's to be united; it's within us. We just need inspiration, and Manny is only one of the millions of Filipinos that can be the source of that great Filipino pride. Let us join togther and help one another.

Every day, let us be inspired to be united to move our motherland forward. Do you think is it time to start the

reforms that we have been looking for, for so many years?

Competence vs Competition

Competence is the quality of being competent or capable of performing an allotted function. It is the quality or condition of being legally qualified to perform an act. The mental ability to distinguish right from wrong and to manage one's own affairs. It requires the ability and the capacity to do something extraordinarily.

Competion on the other hand is the act of competing, as for profit or a prize; rivalry. A test of skill or ability for a contest such as a skating or dance competition. Rivalry between two or more businesses striving for the same customer or market.

Does it really mean that being competent or having competence is having to compete with other rivals? To be successfull one needs to be competent enough, especially in our fast pace world today, if you slow down for sure you will be left behind. What does it take to be competent enough to win the competition? Competition is more of a mind-setting. It takes 80% mental and 20% physical to rise it up to the challenge. In any endevour or thing one must set its mind that one can make it then the rest will follow. For if anyone will rest in their laurels, just like in the Philippine folk tales-Juan Tamad, it would one would just wait for the fruit to fall from the tree to his mouth probably would die and still would not have something to fill his stomach. In any given situation one must do what ever it takes just as long as he will not break paths with others needs then probably there would be no beggars around no one would be hungry and there would be peace and harmony, less crime would be committed. About 85% of the crimes committed were rooted to poverty causes.

Everybody needs even a little bit of competition to challenge their inner strength, to bring out the best in every individual.

Creative juices run dry because of technology!

To maximize individual creativity, a person needs access to a diversity of skills and expertise. The relationships between the knowledge builder and the resources they draw on do not have to unusually close. They shouldn't be enemies or competitors (more on them later), but friendly acquaintances will do fine. All parties need to have some skill at communicating across disciplines.

That definition would be the technical description of maximizing individual creativity but what effect does technology bring into our lives? Though it made our lives easier and more effective but it some matters it made complications to us. It brought "Techno stress." Creative juices run dry because of technology! Nowadays people tend to communicate over their cellphones rather than personally. They could avoid awkward moments during difficult moments. Flowers can now be given in form of just a text message and uttering the 3 words of endearment has gone cold. Students tend to browse over the net for assignments and papers for convience. Books was in but now who needs books if you could have pictures and presentations and movies with full animation. It kills the thrill in reading.

Personally, I am not against technology. In fact I a
m very fond of it. I have a passion for gadgets. I have a share of my own but based on what I have seen. Kids today are very lazy and different. Before if you want to kill the time and entertain yourself you could interact with other people and play games such as "Patentero, piko, tumbang preso, taguan",now kids wont go outside, they just want to play with their computers and video games. Teenagers would go out and talk with the other sex for thrill but now they would just chat and text. Where's the fun in that.

What if you combine the positive traits of technology and the old fashion trends maybe the future wouldn't be so bad after all.

Do you still value your "Self"?

Our culture is concerned with matters of self-esteem. Self-respect, on the other hand, may hold the key to achieving the peace of mind we seek. The two concepts seem very similar but the differences between them are crucial.

To esteem anything is to evaluate it positively and hold it in high regard, but evaluation gets us into trouble because while we sometimes win, we also sometimes lose. To respect something, on the other hand, is to accept it.

The word acceptance suggests to some readers that our culture does indeed deal with this idea of self-respect; after all, don't we have the concept that it is important to accept our limitations? Aren't many of us encouraged "to change the things we can change, accept the things we cannot change and know the difference between the two?"

The person with self-respect simply likes her- or himself. This self-respect is not contingent on success because there are always failures to contend with. Neither is it a result of comparing ourselves with others because there is always someone better. These are tactics usually employed to increase self-esteem. Self-respect, however, is a given. We simply like ourselves or we don't. With self-respect, we like ourselves because of who we are and not because of what we can or cannot do.

Consider an interesting test of self-respect. If someone compliments us, what is our reaction? If we are very pleased, it would suggest a certain amount of uncertainty about our skill. Imagine that somebody whose opinion we respect told us that we were great at spelling three-letter words, or that our pronunciation of vowels was wonderful. Chances are we would not be moved. We know we can do it in the first case, and we don't care in the second. Because we were not evaluating ourselves, the compliment was unimportant. The more instances in which we don't "take the compliment," the less vulnerable we become to evaluation and insult.

Many people worry whether there is life after death. Just think about it: If we gave up self-evaluation, we could have more life before death.

Does God really exists?

Does God really exist? Everybody always say that God really moves in mysterious ways but how weird can he get?People most of the time comdemn him when bad things happen to them. He is the almighty one the God that created the whole universe and everything is planned according to him. It is like a blue already made but along the way some modifications has to be made to create the perfect or at least close to one. Some times I ask myself why does God exist? Does he really exist? I have been asking that question for the past decade but I have no clue on this impass. One day on my way to school. I met an accident that would change my faith forever. I was involve in a car accident and I could not move an inch of my body. The only thing that I could do is pray that I could survive this.

People tend to believe in God because it is in our culture and tradition but who can really prove that God exists? I guess I could not really prove to everybody that God really exists but for my sake I believe that God is like the wind nobody could see it but everyone could feel it. God moves in mysterious ways. Sometimes we may not understand how he thinks and do things the way he does but just like a child will follow everything without fear if his / her parents would tell him / her what to do. You do not need to fear anything if you are on the side of God.
